10 Days Itinerary Australia Tasmania Mornington

I always wanted travel to Tasmania for its clean air, isolated geography location, rich history,  fresh produce and of course, Tasmanian wines.

Tasmania, also known as “Tassie” for locals, is a southern island state of Australia. It is a big island (68,401 km2 ) with lots of wild lives and untouched landscapes. We spent 8 days in Tasmania just enough to cover north, east coast and south. West coast is more rugged covering by Tassie’s stunning national parks and convicts heritage.

Weather in Tasmania is cooler than the mainland Australia due to its southerly location. It is the closest state of Australia to the Antarctic.

A few fun facts about Tasmania
  1. Supposedly, Holland is the “home of Tulips” but Holland imports tulips bulbs from Tasmania
  2. Tasmania has the world’s cleanest air
  3. At least 1/5 of Tasmania is world heritage area
  4. The “Tasmanian devil” is only found in Tasmania and is the world’s largest surviving carnivorous marsupial.
  5. Tasmania has over 2000km of walking tracks and 18 national parks
