Tourist in Singapore
We always feel like a tourist in Singapore despite already staying here for a few years. Singapore is constantly changing and improving. Quite an amazing city to live in.
Best Place To Visit In Singapore
Our favourite hangout place has to be Gardens by The Bay. It is a massive outdoor and indoor garden with so much to see and do. And when the weather gets too hot (like all the time in Singapore), the best place to escape from the humid heat is the air-conditioned flower dome and forest dome. Also, it is the must-see attraction in Singapore whenever we have visitors in town! We almost felt like the ambassador for Gardens-by-the-bay already (If there’s such a thing). 😂
The display in the paid conservatory – Flower Dome, changes every few months depending on the season. Year-end is always Christmas theme which is the most exciting time of the year. Since we could never experience white snowy Christmas in Singapore, the Christmas display and the cooler temperature in the conservatory definitely helps.

I took this video just recently when the Christmas decoration was up! Also including some parts of the outdoor garden and OCBC Skyway. I hope you enjoy the video.

Sometimes there is a promotion for the membership like buy 1 get another one with 50% discount which works out great for us. It’s a perfect place to chill in the hot Singapore weekend and we always have guests visiting us from overseas. We just need to visit more than 3 times a year to make the ticket worthwhile. Of course, we always come back more than 3 times a year. It’s such a pleasant place to visit.
Attraction 1: Cooled-Conservatory – Flower Dome
This is the world largest glass greenhouse as listed in the 2015 Guinness World Records! Beautiful display of flowers, succulents and other plants from around the world. It’s like a world garden in one! Truly amazing. Replicating the cool and dry Mediterranean climate, Flower Dome showcases exotic plants from five continents which are displayed in nine different Gardens.
With our yearly pass, we come here too many times and love every part of it. There’s a beautiful restaurant in the flower dome called “Pollen” serving garden tea set as well as amazing fine dining menu. Highly recommended.
In the Flower Field area of the conservatory, the plant display is changing according to every season. The theme of this Christmas season is called “POINSETTIA WISHES“, it’s like a Scandinavian theme for visitors to experience a Nordic Noel in this festive season.
Beautiful and tall, real Christmas trees. Aren’t they lovely?
Open daily: 9.00am – 9.00pm
Last ticket sale: 8.00pm
Last admission: 8.30pm
Indoor temperature: 23°C – 25°C
Attraction 2: Cooled Conservatory – Cloud Forest
If flower dome is like a dry Mediterranean garden with lots of flowers, succulents and herbs, then cloud forest is more like a misty jungle with lots of moss, orchids or humidity-loving plants.
We were greeted by this magnificent waterfall the moment we entered the dome. It was refreshing by the mist and quite a spectacular view in here.
World’s tallest indoor waterfall
Cloud Forest is a 35-metre tall indoor mountain covered in lush greens and shrouding the world’s tallest indoor waterfall.
Open daily:9.00am – 9.00pm
Indoor temperature:23°C to 25°C
💨 ** Mist Timings (every 2 hours, will be beautiful to watch):
10.00am, 12.00pm, 2.00pm, 4.00pm, 6.00pm, 8.00pm daily
Attraction 3: OCBC Skyway
Open daily: 9am – 9pm
This is a scenic walk 22 metres above ground, we love the spectacular view of the gardens and Singapore skyline. But there’s an additional ticket required.
Child (3-12 years old): $5
There’s an elevator to go up there and a short walk of 128 metre long. Plenty of photo-opportunities here!
Attraction 4: Music and Light Show
Just below OCBC Skywalk, there’s a FREE music and light show every night at 7.45pm and 8.45pm.
Every time we brought our visitors there, they were more than impressed! So, if you are there early, go have your dinner somewhere close and come back for the light show! You won’t regret it!
Attraction 5: Outdoor Gardens
Outdoor gardens are free but it can get quite hot during the day. So the best time to visit is early morning or evening onward. Bring an umbrella during the day you will thank me later!
So that’s it! I hope you enjoy this post and have a good overview of this most-visited tourist /local attraction in Singapore!
