There are a few short weekend getaway ideas in Singapore (without taking a flight).
You can go to
- Pulau Ubin, Singapore (15 minutes ferry ride) = a small village island in Singapore that is remained undeveloped. Click here to see our day trip to Pulau Ubin .
- Bintan Island, Indonesia (less than 1 hour ferry ride) – popular for Spa & Golf
- Batam Island, Indonesia (50 minutes ferry ride) – popular for Spa & Golf
Last weekend, terribly needed a relaxation day, we headed to Batam for a half day spa. Recommended by my work colleague, turned out this is going to be our future favourite short weekend getaway spot.
How To Get There?
We prebooked ticket online as it was a Saturday, I just want to make sure we reach there on time as we have already booked the spa.
Book the ticket through BATAM FAST company.
Cost: 2-way ticket = $49 per person
Sector: Harbourfront (Singapore) to Sekupang (Batam)
Journey: 50 minutes
We booked the earliest ferry departing at 7.50am on Saturday morning, and 3pm ferry back to Singapore after the spa & lunch.
Check-in time: 7.05am.
We checked-in and printed the boarding pass at home, arrived at 7.05pm, take-away some food and go straight to the gate. (Yes, you can bring your food and clear the customs area).
There are some breakfast options (even at 7 am in the morning), money changers at the terminal. Although it was super busy at the terminal, clearing through custom was easy.
Boarded the small BatamFast company’s ferry. Free seating. It was really crowded as most golfers took the earliest ferry to Batam as well.
The resort offers free-taxi pickup from Sekupang ferry terminal to the spa. We arrived with someone waiting for us, everything was well taken care of. Just a short 10-15 minutes car ride.
Half Day Spa (3 hours = SGD $160/ pax)
We were greeted with a welcome drink, got to choose 3 types of treatments for our half day spa.
Other than half day spa 3 hours ( SG $160 per person) there is Full Day Spa 6 hours as well (SG$308 per person). Full spa menu can be seen here.

9. Pedicure & V Spa (Ratus)
I had Balinese massage, Hot herbal compress & Ratus (V-spa) treatment. Husband had Balinese massage, ear candling and foot reflexology.
Room was clean and comfortable. The massage was very very good. The product used are mostly home-made, no chemical, no parabin, and made using natural products.
For who love massage alot, I must say this is one of the best spa around (and the cheapest in price).
Spa was fantastic. Masseurs were very professional, firm and slow.
After the 3 hours spa (9am-12pm), we choose to have lunch at the resort.
Lunch on the second-floor terrace, with the tropical outdoor weather.
Food was lovely. We opt for ala-cart menu.
Kaffir Lime Chicken $20 SGD/20,200 Rp
Food was delicious, a little expensive but saved us a trip to go outside and explore.
Relaxing After Lunch
We bought an open ticket for the return trip, but the staff at the spa advises us to take the 3pm ferry back, as it could get very busy in the evening.
They helped us to check-in for the return ticket, printed the boarding pass and even filled in the immigration card for us (how thoughtful!).
Will we go back?
Definitely! I already can’t wait to book the next one.
